One hand, one brush
Mo Jiang (墨疆) is a small writing studio in Quanzhou, on the Minnan coast. One hand brushes the characters and one hand holds the carving knife; what you order is made after you order it, and it did not exist before.
Three standing rules
- Never a printer, never a model. Every stroke is human handwriting; AI only lays out drafts and pads ambient sound, always labelled.
- The chip lives beside the paper, not inside it. Seals and paper stay pure material; the NFC companion card holds the voice and the picture, and nothing is uploaded.
- Batches end. A run closes at two hundred pieces; the number on your piece finds its batch-mates. It is not an investment, and never promises to become one.
How an order goes
You send the characters. We write a proof and email it to you, and nothing is brushed or carved until you say yes. From that yes to dispatch is about seven days of hand work — the same seven days named on every product page, because a lead time that changes per item is one nobody can remember. Then it travels: 7–15 business days to a United States address, a little longer elsewhere, tracked all the way and declared at actual value.
The photographs on this site are typeset layout previews and are labelled as such, so you can see how the characters will sit on the paper before anyone picks up a brush. The piece you receive is real handwriting or real carving, and it will differ from the preview in stroke weight, ink shade and stone colour. That difference is the work, not a defect.
What we will not do
We do not sell antiques or claim age for new stone. We do not invent dialect recordings — where no authentic branch recording exists, you get the map and the text, honestly. Hall names follow your family record, not our guess.
