What we collect, and why
- Order records — name, shipping address, email and the payment reference PayPal returns to us. We need these to make your piece, ship it and keep tax books.
- Your custom text and your approval replies — the characters you send, and your yes before any ink moves. These are the contract for a made-to-order piece.
- Support messages — whatever you write to us about an order.
What we never do
- No voice or picture ever passes through our servers. The recording and the photograph live on the NFC chip inside your companion card; nothing is uploaded, and we cannot listen to it.
- No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no analytics pixels on this site today.
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. There is no marketing list unless you opt in, and every mail carries an unsubscribe line.
Payments
Checkout currently offers a PayPal invoice: you place the order and we email an invoice; the payment itself is handled by PayPal. When card checkout opens, card payments will be processed by PayPal and, where PayPal is not available, by LianLian Global (连连国际). We receive your name, email and a transaction reference; full card numbers never reach our server.
Where your data lives
This shop runs on servers located in the People’s Republic of China (Alibaba Cloud, Guangzhou). Order records, your custom text and support messages are stored there; payment details are held by the processors named above under their own policies. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, your personal data is transferred to and processed in the People’s Republic of China. We make that transfer on the basis of this notice and of our contract with you, and we hold the data to the same standard described on this page. If you would rather not order on these terms, write to service@mzen.ink before you pay and we will refund anything already paid in full.
How long we keep things
Order and tax records are kept as long as the law of the People’s Republic of China requires. Support threads are kept for two years. If you ask us to erase what is not legally required, it goes within 7 days.
Your rights
Ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — service@mzen.ink, answered within 7 days. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority; we would rather fix it with you first.
This shop is not directed at children under 14. Changes to this page are posted here with the date of change.
